
Miguel Esteban is a Canadian/American Musical Director who recently graduated with a Masters in Musical Directing from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). He is also a graduate from the University of Toronto, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano Performance and a Master of Teaching, both with High Distinction.
Miguel is currently the Musical Director for the upcoming Planet K-Pop US Tour. Most recently, he was the Assistant Musical Director for Todrick Hall’s musical Midnight. Previously he was AMD for for the Hamilton UK & Ireland Tour, Figaro at the London Palladium, and AMD/cover conductor for The Red Shoes at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Miguel is also passionate about theatre education and has taught at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and Urdang Academy.

Prior to his time at the RCS, Miguel worked for a wide range of musical theatre productions as a freelance MD, pit musician (keyboard, violin, viola), keyboard programmer, and rehearsal/audition pianist. He was nominated for his MD work on The Spongebob Musical for “Best Musical Direction and Orchestra Performance (Professional)” in BroadwayWorld Toronto’s 2023 awards.


As the 2022/23 Director of Education & Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity at the Oshawa Little Theatre, Miguel combined his passion for education and musical theatre by founding and leading the OLT Youth Theatre Orchestra, which gave young musicians the opportunity to learn about musical theatre pit playing, attend various workshops related to musician health and pit playing, work with professional musicians and conductors, and perform in the pit for a live show at the end of the year.
